Default Jeep club 3 provinces 18/08/18

This past weekend the JEEPCLUB monthly event was help at 3 provinces . WHAT AN ADVENTURE .

We arrived at about 4.30 pm on friday afternoon , checked in and went up to the camp site , I had a short sleeve shirt on , was still warm , set up camp and then went to check on the fire for the donkey , By this time it was about 5015 and things started to chill at a rate of knotts , the wind also picked up . I had to don my jacket , but all in good spirits , the rest of the members arrived and set up camp , By this time the wind was howling , and it was drizzling from time to time . We had a braai and some drinks before heading off to bed .
Gale force winds and rain during the night , thought my tent was going to have its last camp, but it survived . Saturday we woke to overcast misty cold weather . At drivers briefing it was a choice to drive or make big fire and "KUIER" the rest of the day , We came to drive so we set of on the trail .
As we crested the first hill we found that the veld was iced over , what a site , moved on steadily until we reached ' HELS HOOGHTE " The climb up to the top went fairly easy and then the last step up was not going to be conquered . I could not find any grip, lockers on I was spinning all 4 wheels, My friend Micheal Crawford , in a shorty rubi asked if I can let him by to try , WITH A BATTLE HE MADE IT UP , he then hooked me and I was up . we had to assist most of the guys up , last person up was on 37s no tracktion and with a snap crackle and pop his rear side shaft was gone . towed him to a gully to be out of the wind , as they wanted to remove the side shaft , wasted 2 hours to try and remove the shaft to get the spined piece out , eventually he drove it back to camp .

here is some photos of our adventure
