Diggers Retreat has facilities
What are your dates?

Good morning.
Planning a trip to Baberton area. Few things I want to do around the area, including som of the Dusty Tracks trails as well as a day trip into Swaziland.
Any suggestions on nice camping spots that one should not miss?

Ask Wynand (Dusty Tracks) for advice.
There is, of course the campsite in town with security (entrance at the old steam engine on display).
Reasonable cheap and clean but maybe not what you're looking for.
I believe there are others in the area - best to ask the locals.
Interesting little town with a lot of history ....
Answering the call of the wild is just so much beter than answering the telephone.

Sometime this summer.
Just starting to look at a few options. Idea is for about 3-4 nights. Something decent.
Will check in with Wynand, he seems to be the authority on camping around that neck of the woods.

I prefer to just "bush camp" on the mountain, but I'm blessed with unlimited access![]()
Looking awesome!
We also plan going in this area.
Could you kindly give some recommendations?
Is bush camping a common thing to do or rather critical?
Don't need comfort, need nature!
So no camping sites near Baberton?

I couldn't find any camping near Barberton in October except Diggers Retreat who refused to give me a spot when I got there because "groups get preference". I ended up going back to Nelspruit and camped at Lakeview Lodge. Not the best but it wasn't too bad just for a stopover and probably won't be full on a long weekend. Msauli village were also going to develop a campsite but not sure if that's operational yet. I've previously stayed at The Gold Nugget B&B in Barberton which was good value for money.
Cheers,
Frank
