    Default Waypoint labels name change - help please

    I have 200 waypoint labels that I need to change.
    They are all in the same format and need the same change to each one.

    Example:
    Existing waypoint label is MCH001 and needs to change to MACH001
    MCH002 needs to change to MACH002 and so on for a couple of hundred.

    Does anyone know how to do a bulk change like this?

    I have MapSource and BaseCamp.
    I can bulk change the waypoint symbol easlly but cannot find a way to bulk edit the waypoint labels.
    I tried editing the .gps file but could not find a way to do this either.

    Help please.

    I checked in Mapsource:

    Save to a *.gpx file.

    Make a safe copy of this file! (if you screw something up!)

    Use a text editor such as Notepad (yuck!) to edit the file.

    The waypoints are stored as follows:

    <wpt lat="-33.593480" lon="26.896632">
    <time>2018-08-07T08:08:53Z</time>
    <name>001</name>
    <sym>Waypoint</sym>
    </wpt>
    Do a 'clever' search and replace.

    Save the file, and read back into Mapsource.
