Default Spider Identification Please, Western Cape

Hi everybody,Can someone please tell me what spider this is? We live in Betty's Bay in the Western Cape. It was inside the house, and scared the daylights out of me, even though I'm not normally afraid of spiders. It was about 6cm long, but for some reason, in my mind it was about 20! We got a long stick to see if we could convince it to go out the window, and it raised up its front legs! Yikes! But it did get on the stick so we managed to get it outside. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos. I couldn't get any closer! Thank you!

Looks like what I call a rain spider. The white on the legs is not normal if memory serves me right.
    Rain spiders usually black stripes?

Rain spiders can rear up - very intimidating!
They can also run at fair speed across a wall..
Never known them to climb on a stick.
They can give a good deep bite.

I rid my garden of them by moving their nests elsewhere.
    We had a large number.

Not nice to wake up at 3am and one is about to crawl onto your wife's face.......

Agree with rain spider! More threatening than dangerous!
