    Default Trip Report October 2017

    Hi Guys

Its finally time to start my trip report and say thank you to everyone on here who helped us plan our amazing trip. We have spent quite a bit of time in Africa over the years and this was the best Safari to date. I had to go a bit cold turkey on the Forum for a few months after I came back to stop myself getting too depressed (who knows when we will be back)

Anyway thanks a million guys, all the advice on here definitely ensured a very smooth and amazing holiday. I will post my report in sections and if anyone has any questions please feel free to PM me or post you questions here. I am also slowly adding some photos to Instagram which you can check out @ AliceKenned

    Hope you enjoy

    Hi Alice
Thanks for posting your report! And well done on getting rid of your CKGR would-be campsite squatters.
I was interested to read of the restrictions on meat movement that you encountered in Maun- since I am planning to do some grocery and meat shopping there myself in October. I haven’t seen any other mentions of this on any forums lately. Sounds as if the retailers are helpful though.
Now- when do we get to read the next bit please?!

    Hi Janet

With regard to the meat restrictions going from south to north seems pretty rare, and I think in our case it was an isolated incident. Both of the main meat suppliers in Maun were very helpful especially the girls in Delta Deli. As I stated, we weren't even checked in the end at the vet fence, but not worth the risk to chance it if you need to carry meat for a long trip.

Hopefully I will have the next part finished over the weekend.

    Alice

    What a nice report.

I must say it is embarrassing to read about your experience of SAA. Even though we know of the corruption and total implosion of the once proud flying Springbok, it is still hurtful to read these negative reports from our tourists.

I am looking forward reading the further parts of your report.

    Hi Hermanator,

    Thanks for the comments.
Sorry to Report on SA Airways. It definately does not colour our impression of your beautiful country. Happy to report the flight home was a little bit better service-wise.

Excellent report - lots of detail.

The soft lighting in the pics was wonderful - reminded
me of "Mana light" and you managed to catch the game's
expressions which made the pics so captivating.

    Can't wait for more!
