This normally means that the battery is so flat that the charger thinks there is no battery, or the battery is faulty.

Check also connections?! , and power supply. If charging the charge mode led must light up.

If the battery is indeed just flat, find another way to just bump it back into life or to trick the charger.

Usual method is to put the charger into a Power Supply Mode, but I don't think the XS 3600 has this facility like its bigger brothers.

You can also put another charged battery in parallel with the battery giving you a hard time. Leave it charging for an hour or two then remove the donor battery. The one danger here is if the battery actually is faulty, and just not plain flat. If the battery has a dead cell, then the results are unpredictable, ranging from not charging to dangerous overcharging.

    What Fluffy said.
I have experience this problem with my C-Tek 7 Amp charger before cause the battery I needed to charge was simply too flat. I used my "Makro Special" 12 Amp basic charger to charge for about an hour and then went back to the C-Tek, problem solved.

I had a similar Ctek charger which refused to let me move the mode.
I suspect that mode button is faulty in mine.

Yours may of course be merely reflecting a flat battery problem.
