Default Semi Deep Cycle Battery Charging and Reconditioning

I know very little about the chargers that are available.

I would like to know which Ctek unit would be best for a 5 year old Deltec Semi Deep Cycle battery? I was hoping that a good charger can recondition it, or do need to buy a new SDC Battery?

IMO you are wasting money getting a CTEK, I use a R899 PSA08 (8stage/8amp) from Midas on my Deltec boat batteries and my DC battery.

I've tried so many of those cheaper chargers.
I bought a Benton BX2 charger and now also have the BX1 Pro for my smaller batteries. FIL is also very happy with his BX1 Pro.
If they can't revive the batteries then those batteries cannot be saved.
I bought mine from FamilyDog (Repcom) on this forum. Best service I've experienced in many years.
Imo CTek doesn't come close. Especially with value for money.

Agree with the 2 replies above. Both the PSA008 (or PSD008 - the digital version of PSA00 and the Bentons are reliable and would offer you better value for money. To charge a semi deep cycle battery is what these chargers are designed for - the Ctek included. Reconditioning you can do, but do not repeat it. Not more than once in 2 to 6 months or so. Repeat the recon cycle it only if you have reason to believe it is really neccessary.

5 Year old - I hope it's still OK, but my guess is you will be buying a battery as well...
