Default CRDI Pulsating idle when cold?

I recently purchased a Hyundai H1 2,5 CRDi with 84000km and full service history. The same engine was also used in the Kia Sorento.
Only some mornings when it is cold, the engine would idle normal and then the revs drop. It pics up immediately almost pulsating.
It is not running rough like the injectors are dodgy. It seems it is not missing and firing on all cylinders.
This keeps up for about 60 seconds or so.
I checked the glow plugs and glow circuit and it is fine. Engine runs smooth the rest of the day. Fuel consumption is normal and the Van goes as well as a 2 ton diesel van can go.
This seems to be intermittent and related ambient temperature.
    Any ideas?

Doubt about the glowplugs, they will not affect the idling but definitely the start up

Sounds almost as if the fuel is too cold to atomise properly, which could be down to dirty injector tips.

Try a bottle of two-stroke oil with your next fill-up, or a bottle of Wynns Diesel cleaner.

I've had great results with both after filling up with dodgy diesel.

glowplugs run for a considerable amount of time after start up to help with post start idle
but if this happens even on warm starts the problem is possibly elsewhere

Only on cold starts. And it is not running rough - the idling dips on all four cylinders - almost like a fuel supply issue. Engine not noisy or shaky.
When I use the throttle to keep the idling steady at say 1500rpm, it is smooth - no dipping.
I noticed that it idles fine if I start it with the aircon on? Almost like an idling compensation issue?

Thanks for all the replies so far.

Then why does the indicator display disappear and not continue to show after the vehicle has started? On none of my vehicles does it stay on after starting.

same reason your temp gauge is not accurate and damped - those are comfort indicators and not confirming mechanical / electrical function to be honest - they are intended to make you feel good

try pull the glow plug relay out and see what happens to the idle issue
