You calculate the difference between starting values and end values.

That difference equated with time gives a curve. The more the curve the more the G.

You don't need a starting point. You just need to introduce time as a variable in the algorithm. It's very simple math and in code only a few lines.

As hulle net daai verdomde X se waarde vir my kon gee.

Voor jy nog moeite doen met my.........

Oh there's more, lots more. It's never as simple as some basic maths and a few lines of code

I'll keep adding info, but alas in-depth detail will have to remain in the realms of protected IP.

Maybe you can enlighten me, is these units purposefully mounted to align with the vehicle axis, or is some Calibration done after installation to determine the relationship between its own coordinate system and those of the vehicle?

I was referring to getting G force data from gyros and accelerometers.

How that data is used can get very complicated, very quickly!

Off course, Marius, sorry my response was tongue in cheek.

As it is almost impossible to align the unit perfectly with the vehicle's axis, and still have it fairly well hidden, a calibration process is almost certainly required. Not only does it overcome alignment issues, but also eliminates small errors inherent in the sensor data. However, I cannot speak for any specific products out there, or how various companies install their products. I can tell you this, I would personally not trust any device that does not have calibration capabilities.
