    Jobro,

I strongly believe you will be ok. I had my right hand done on 16 May here in George. Two fingers as deformed as your pinky. Although the healing process is still ongoing, I played my first 9 holes golf last week end. (In only 3weeks time)

For the past year or so I have had the same on my left ring finger, albeit not as bad as some of the photos posted previously. I'll follow this thread closely and monitor the deterioration. It becomes 'awkward' to do something menial like sanding a flat wooden surface. Fortunately it's developed on the left hand. I can imagine it could be cumbersome to have the curled finger on a "working" hand.
Good luck to those who are having the op.

So I have booked a op on my hand for Thurs in CT with a plastic surgeon who did my brother's hand with out cutting the hand open - obviously it depend on the severity of the contraction, but I have had so many anesthetics in my life that I cannot cope with another. Hopefully he will use a local or block.

I will post after the op has been done.

    Michael thanks for your advice!

Ok had the op ten days ago.

No general anesthetic just the 'date rape one' and a block.

I removed the bandages the next day - see pic with small pinhole cuts in my hand.

Amazing, and the Doc said sucess rate same as cutting the hand open.
