We start the trail at 8am..

We have 3 4x4 trails, all together 10km long. They are all natural and run over the mountains, through the kloofs and streams and offer beautiful scenery all along the way.
There are 36 obstacles ranging from a grading of 2 all the way to grade 5 and are suitable for beginners as well as experts. All the obstacles are named, the A route is funny Afrikaans names, B route is song names and C route is movie names.
Each obstacle is marked with a board so you can't get lost and the difficult obstacles all have bypasses.

Anyone know what the road condition is between Magaliesburg and Derby?

I will let you know when we get there... That would be next week though....

Seriously, we last drove that way a few years ago. Last time it was fine. A few potholes near Boons as well as between Boons and Derby, but not deep potholes. Really not a bad road to drive. But that is quite a while ago.

Depending on where one is coming from, one can also go via Rustenburg - Derby. The first night's stop is on the RTB side of Derby in any case.

I have a vehicle mount VHF. Two 'walkabout' VHFs and a few license free zarteks on open UHF frequencies.

    Itinerary:

    Friday -
Arrive at Honey Nest from 14h00. Set up camp and meet everyone as they arrive.
Dinner - each fends for himself, and we eat how, when and what you want. - I would suggest something to braai.

Once everyone is there I will give more details as to the route, and we can discuss the next day's driving and what it entails.
I will suggest getting the way points as this will go a long way in helping you travel the route and leave you clear of the dust.. (I can mail you a route map as well.)
I do not want to post the route here.

    Saturday -
We wake up, make coffee, brekkie, break camp... chat... and get ready for the trip (9h45 we will have a drivers meeting and just get to grips on what is what (just to reiterate for those who forget the previous nights discussion) - questions will be answered etc)

The departure time will be 10am on Saturday and the trip should not take longer than three and a half hours and this includes a lunch stop - Note that this is an estimate and I will not be held accountable if we lose valuable beer drinking time at the next venue

The lunch will be at a "Padstal" and you can get something there or just make a boerie... (I will explain on Friday)

We arrive at Karee, set up camp, while having a cold one and set up the dinner stuff - a fire and a kuier will commence. (Here I suggest that you guys get out the big foods.. Groot kosmaak... You can make a pot, braai, spit roast, anything you want... ) Just enjoy!
If you dont want to make "groot" food and just want to kuier with a worsie on a roll... so be it!
We go to bed when we want to...

    Sunday
For those going on the trail, I suggest a quick brekkie, and then join the drivers meeting at 08h00. (Take some water/cooldrinks and some left overs for the trail)

I request that we refrain from drinking alcohol on or before the trail.

    - For those remaining at the camp, please feel free to just enjoy the lovely bush veld area, go for a walk, check out the bird life, or just chill.

We leave for home when we are ready.

    Is there spooks ?

The reason I ask is that my Swambo has a history of being contacted late at night. I often hear her having conversations in the pitch dark and there is no one there.

One of the ladies buried in the graveyard died a very hard and difficult death after much pain and suffering. Her spook dwells around the tents at night.
But my wife is way more scary.

Coenoes - since you are coming along. I'll bring you some decent braai wood. It wont be much as I wont be towing anything and there won't be spacefor much.

But if it works, let me know and we can make a plan....
