Yes, with shopping around you can achieve the same discounts that you could, for example, 3 months ago on a Hilux.

I was also offered a Dakar by local dealer . Launch in the next week or so.
I also saw a car carrier truck with a few Hilux ROCCO's on the N3 this week . Very nice !!

Some dealerships says yes there is a Dakar version other don't. I have seen two of these with the so called "Dakar" versions front bumper but without the Dakar decals, so there are some who already imported this body kit and fitted it to their normal Hilux.

I am thinking it is the same stunt as Bidvest McCarthy tried to pull with their Brater Hilux. You can buy all that kit form local shops here in SA. It is the same company that does all the Ranger Raptor kits.

Looking back a few months ago with the Hilux black edition, that was just some black paint added to a Hilux and it got way more marketing than this new "Dakar" version. Something does not add up.
You do know that all the Brater units had a totally upgraded suspension and you could order it chipped/remapped(150/500nm I think??).......with or without all the plastic crap

That's interesting as the Dakar is essentially what the Rocco is in the East. Did you actually see Rocco branding?

Yip I know, but like I said all could be sourced locally, they used AmadaExtreme's suspension upgrades with an RGM chip and free flow and they used CobraX to supply the body kit. You also didn't keep your original Toyota SA warranty, you got a 3rd party warranty underwritten by Guard Risk. Which just shows that none of these were actually Toyota SA official.

For sure coming. Will get my offer today from the dealer. There is a Toyota SA bulletin announcing it to the dealers.

The Dakar does look great. Now confused on what colour, this silver or white for long term? Go hunting every year and get the odd small scratches from the bush. White more sensible then. And I thought buying a Hilux was easy.

Same boat. I went with white in the end as long term I think that the scratches and general dirt may be less noticeable.

Stock is scarce so you might find that the decision is made for you, as in what your dealer has coming / can get.

Silwer rollbar with no nudgebar. In my opinion nudgebar is a waste of money and serve no purpose than cosmetic. It also decrease your approach angle.

There’s no nudge bar yet because of the new “nose”. The current one’s brackets are in a different position that wont fit on new one. Toy Sa will develop one for October releases

Both nudge bar and roll bar are cosmetic. Given the black instead of chrome features on the Dakar, I would go black nudge and roll bars if you are going to fit them.

OK Getting the white 2.8 4x4 AT next week.

Think I need to put black rims on. Want fairly plain rims dom't want to look like a rapper when I visit customers.

    Any ideas?
