    Default Jimny brakes?

    Hi guys,

I noticed that the brakes on the Jimny are not the best and sometimes fade...Is this normal?

Make sure they're not contaminated, and bleed them or have them bled. See if that resolves the problem.

What are you doing when they 'fade' ? Slowing down for a stop street or towing a 1 ton trailer and trying to stop quickly?

Firstly the brakes feels 'spongy' and then when stationary, you can feel the brake pedal slightly decreasing to a certain level and then stop. The other day I got a fright, while traveling about 120km someone cut in front of me, and I felt the brakes didn't hold. I had to swerve to avoid them..maybe I am expecting too much? All I wanted to know was, is this normal for a Jimny?

    Nope not normal.

Jimny has ABS brakes, so if the pedal feels "spongy", take it to Suzuki dealer and give them hell. Something's not wright in their...

That should have been picked up in the pre-delivery service and checks.

I have done a couple of emergency brakes with my Jimny and it stopped rather well, with the ABS kicking in. Not sure if what you explain is normal, as my previous car was an Atos with horrible brakes.

This is not normal behaviour, take it to have the brakes checked.
