Hi guys, on the WRND - will it work optimal with a ‘Smart’ altenator ?

Also got me one. Added an LED light to the front of the NL box. Mounted the WRND at the back of the box with only two BH plugs. The grey connects to the vehicle (battery and alternator) via a BH plug mounted in the load bin of the bakkie and the yellow to my solar panels. Tested it with my NL fridge and works great. Yes, just make sure it is wired in. I have it in my Disco and no issues..

can you also charge from solar/charge controller via the RED input plug on the box?

I modded a box for a mate and on opening the front panel, you can see that all of the input /outputs are basically direct. There is no solenoid or charging electronics inside.

You can use the red or grey for input as long as there is a controller before the input. This could be a solenoid, but you would still need to monitor this. It could be a PWM or MPPT controller or a combined one like the WRND, or it could be a charger (recommend smart) with a BH adapter.

You can also get the NL charger lead separately to plug into the box from a charger.

I wired a PWM direct to the battery and works like a charm for solar charging.
Lusted for a Landy but the Pajero was sexier and bigger in the right departments, just like my Missus.
