All done. Ready to start my carvery set.

so it turns out there are a few things not 100% with the forge. hope to correct this weekend
    1. heat coming out the front. need to weld on a heat screen
    2. number one burner not 100%. need to correct. redo the sleeve to straighten the jet
    3. need to block off the collars to prevent heat from the bottom

I measured 1100. Since i am looking for 1070 i did not look for max. I think it should reach 1300

Heat treat of a few blades. Testing the forge. Could maintain even steady temp. Just worried about high carbon steels that require 816 degrees

I think there are very few metals that would need to go higher than 1080c. I dont know what happens if you go higher than is needed on steel, does it change for the worse. I usually do the magnet test but for some steels it needs to soak for a while.

i research the steel i have and find the recommendations for that steel. they talk about grain growth the high than specified temp the steel is heated resulting in poor performance

most stainless is around 1050- 1080
    carbon steel around 820

from my understanding all will need a soak to transform the steel to the core

Prosopis, maar die ligter kleur, die donkerder kleur gaan nie mooi grein wys op so n klein oppervlak nie.
