    Default Hood Lining cleaner?

My Nissan 1400 white/creamish hood ling needs a proper clean , I don't really want to replace it because I believe you have to remove the windscreen & rear window to do it properly , Handy Andy/diluted degreaser doesn't clean it really because there is stains on it also , any other good products worthy of giving a try?

Give that carpet and upholstery cleaner cans a try. It has a brush on the one end and is available from most Checkers' or any Midas. R40 IIRC

If that's the vinyl hood liner that the 1400 normally has then use the strongest water based degreaser(prepsol should be good) neat on a damp microfiber cloth, also apply to the holdliner and then let it stand for 15min before wiping down.

I'm not sure about the material in the 1400, but for most stains (dirty black finger marks mostly) we just use Benzine and a cloth. Works a treat.

    Don't, it really is ####!

The vinyl on those are often permanently stained. Have it replaced - you might be surprised at how affordable it is.

Another great thing to try is Holts Tar remover spray in the green tin, it's around R60 but it's hands down the best thing I have used for removing stains from anything incl oily greasy marks, it works great on vinyl dashboards and trim so should be fine on the 1400 hood liner. Also very handy for taking glue residue off anything and it's safe on paint.

Midas definitely has it as do most other auto spare places, it comes in a spray tin and also bottle.
