Default Newbies planning our first (of hopefully many) overland trips!

    Hi all

We are new to this forum, and are hoping that we could tap into the collective experience from its members!

My partner and I are in the beginning stages of planning a Cape-to-Cairo (or maybe just to Ethiopia and back, depending on the political climate at the time ) trip in 2020...hopefully we'll be able to do a couple of shorter trips in 2019, and thereafter...who knows...any advice will be more than welcome!

We have loads of debates wrt vehicle choices, camper decisions, etc at the moment, but I'm going to rather post that in "The Pub" section, as I've got no idea in which forum / thread is should actually be.

Looking forward to all the new adventures!

Welcome to the forum! Can I suggest that you post your questions in the "Overland" section - Pub posts get lost very quickly because of the high turnover there. Plenty of collective knowledge on overlanding on the forum.

Welcome and fire away with queries. Can I suggest becoming familiar with the search function on this forum and learning how to scan through the various forum topics and headings, to obtain as much background info as possible.

But there is no such thing as a dumb question, we were all new to this game as some stage.
