    Angry Everest Limited

    Hi Guys,
Wondering if anyone else has had overheating issues with the new Ford Everest Limited?
Mine is a 2017 model with 30 000km on the clock. Vehicle has been into limp mode 14 times, twice my family have been traumatized due to the location where it has happened.
It seems to happen on days over 28 degrees and the aircon is on, but even when not under strain.
When sitting in traffic, the aircon starts blowing warm air so you end up winding the windows down. Whats the point of having an aircon?

So, from sitting in traffic to towing a bike or a boat it still goes into limp mode.
Once you have let it cool down for a bit, it is like nothing ever happened.
Problem is, when it broke down in town, two guys tried to open the doors and get in or who knows what, leaving my 6 year old traumatized.

Sunday was the last straw, driving out the Inanda valley towing the boat, we broke down again.
After calling Ford, who called the AA, 2.5 hours later they collected the car.
I arranged for my family to be collected and my boat because Ford sure as S..t dont give a dam.
Thank goodness we left early otherwise we would have been in trouble in the valley at night.

Problem is Ford say that they cant find anything wrong and this is the first they have heard of such a problem.
They have changed the catalytic converter twice on the exhaust but who knows what the issue is.
The first time it happened was on 600kms.
Honestly, on Sunday I was hoping it would catch fire.
Thanks and sorry for the long winded story.
    Brad

Good luck with ford, in all sincerity.
I have sold my 2017 Wildtrack with only 20k kms on because of fords incompetence. (dealer and head office)

Hope they find and sort your problem out.

Jokes aside, what happened to you and the family is not pleasant and puts you in real danger when you least expect it by choosing to fork out a lot of money on a brand new car.

You do not expect these failures to happen before the warranty expires,or even up to 150,000km, so I sincerely hope you can get this resolved to a point where you feel comfortable driving again.

The manual states you must never tow in normal mode. The torque converter in s mode locks up faster.

If you tow in normal, you are cooking the oil in the gearbox, and there is no chance of cooling it fast enough through the heat exchanger

It happens even when we are not towing and only two people in the car.

CEO from Ford has called my wife to tell her they are sending a team to Durban to test the vehicle.
Will keep you posted but hoping for a positive outcome.
    Thanks for the responses.
