Default Considering a 2014 TB, anything I should look out for

As the title suggests I'm considering buying a 2014 2.8 ltz A/T and was hoping for some objective feedback on things that I should look out for or any particular issues I should be aware of. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Stoneglobe

I have a 2014 2.8 4wd auto. Im on 95,000km trouble free. No issues whatsoever. An enjoyable vehicle. I hope the one you are looking at is the mid/late 2014 upgraded model, with the touchscreen infotainment system. That was a huge plus compared to the early 2014 model.

Yeah I also still have my 2013 MT 4x4. Love the vehicle. Has about 95000km on. Maybe just make sure all the recalls were applied. If I remember correctly there were 8 small things they sorted. Other than that I really love the vehicle.

    Hi,

I recently sold my 2013 TB. It was a brilliant car.

I had no real issues with the vehicle. Small stuff was sorted under warranty. My steering rack was replaced under warranty, which was about the biggest item replaced.

Overall, the car is ultra reliable.

Unfortunately it looks like the vehicle has been sold. It's back to the drawing board for me but will definitely be keeping the TB in mind.

Keep looking and keep us posted. Mine on 165 000 km. No major issues - just normal wear & tear. One of the best vehicles I have ever owned.

    Mooi bly.

So things changed and the TB came back on the market as the pending deal fell through. Took it for a test drive this afternoon and have to say was really impressed with it. Couple of minor little bits which will need to be sorted but nothing major. One thing I have said is that the spare will have to be replaced with a full size set up rather than the 16" it currently has.

    It's a 2014 LTZ with 113k on the clock.

I feel an offer happening once I get the full quote through from the dealer.

If all goes well I might well be joining the TB club next week.

Hope it works out for you Stoneglobe. On the sparewheel, I kept my 16 rim but fitted a slightly bigger tyre. Overall circumference is only 2mm different from the standard 18.

No need to change the 16 inch spare wheel, just change the spare tyre to a 265/70/16, its 2mm bigger then the 265/60/18 in the real world it makes no difference so you can use 4x4 if you need to use your spare without ""Wind up""

    Thanks for the info.

Offer was made and accepted, finance approved and I am expecting to take delivery Thursday Afternoon. The dealer has included the spare replacement as part of the conditions of sale and is also fitting brand new AT tyres.

Will put up some photos once I get it.

Works perfectly as we've planned to spend the long weekend in St Lucia so will be a nice little run straight away even if it doesn't include any real 4x4 action this time round.

Heading to Gwahumbe this weekend to actually try the beast out properly for the first time so will post pics of it in action.

Initial impressions are that I love this beast. It's so comfortable to drive and the internal space is great. Did the long weekend up to St Lucia from Durban on the day I got it and it was a joy to drive up and a joy to drive through both Isismangaliso and Imfalozi. Absolutely no regrets so far

I enjoy every trip I take with my TB, even to the shops with the missus. When I did the ADDO trip a couple of years ago, it was a dream to drive, on the open roads hit cruise control and just sit back.
