That's a very sad news. Many elephants must be mourning right now. RIP.

Definitely very bad news. What she leaves behind is huge for all of us.

Very sad news for the Sheldrick family, and for the world of conservation. I had the privilege of meeting her a few times in Kenya, and hearing her speak at the Royal Geographical Society in London. An amazing lady.

    Lala salama mama ndovu.
Saw this old mzee roaming alone minutes after hearing about Sheldrick.
Saw this tusker in Northern Kenya, all alone. Spent some time with this mzee and a small prayer for the ellys and Daphne.

Sad news indeed. Fortunately the foundation and her family, particularly her daughter, seem well set up to continue the conservation work of the Sheldrick's.
