    Default Off road teardrop trailers

Evening All, SWAMBO and I are considering a “sleep inside” option. Any opinions on this style of trailer?

Teardrop is not something that has gone big in SA, I can only think of one company (cannot remember their name now) that produces one, but might be wrong.

friend has a road going one, works very well.

Dont think it will handle anything but a nice gravel road though.

These guys have one available. Seems that there is more info on their FB page which I can't access properly.

Their multipurpose trailer is featured in the April Go & Drive

This has always been an idea of mine, but I would like to rent one for a week trip or so at least.

I looked at the Jetstream with money in my hand but I cant come to terms with the kitchen setup.

Why, it's only for two people, and with the two clip on side tables there is plenty space, imo the kitchen setup sets it apart from the other 'small' trailers, I looked at other options like the skipper and this ticked more boxes for my use by far.

I saw a very small caravan/ trailer pulled while on the way to work yesterday which looked interesting. The frog green colour made me think it was homemade though. Had something like " J Lo Grinch" written on the sides. Maybe the Rbay members know who's it is? Had local plates on.

Apologies for the 'morning after' campsite
The two clip on side tables (extra) give you more than enough kitchen workspace.

"Why, it's only for two people,.."

Just as an example, look at the nextadventure kitchen layout and also its cupboards on the inside (post #6).
I need room/cupboards for built in equipment, not a few semi-shelves that can only be used when stationary.
The ice box wont work for me either because I cant get ice everywhere I go.
And how do you store cheese fruit vegs and even meat in a box with ice water.
Unfortunately Im not handy enough to build what I want but google shows me that there are better equipped teardrops available.
The attached are just 3 ideas with lots of room for improvement.

And are you enjoying the trailer?
How does it do on rough roads and water crossings?

Hi, try Vagabond Teardrop, their teardrop comes with a fridge and last I checked started around R65 000 for one; Jetstream can also make one with a fridge if you ask them; Both teardrops can have a RTT fitted on roof racks to make a 4 sleeper. Vagabond is on
