Default Goodyear Wrangler HP tyres chipping

    Hi guys

Has anybody else has experience with BAD flaking and chipping of these Goodyear Wrangler HP tyres that are fitted to the Disco''s I have the 19" rims and have just had my lower control arms, ball joint's replaced along with wheel alignment done.

Have never seen this happen with General Grabbers and Pirelli tyres....

This has been happening on a normal tar surface.... I haven't taken them on a gravel road yet and would hate to think what would be left of them if I were to commute daily on a rough road surface...

Goodyear area saying that this is a problem that land rover are aware of and it only happens on the front axle...

Any of you been down this road with land-rover and Goodyear?

I'm thinking of speaking to the editor of SA4X4 to see if they can do a tyre review and in particular any feedback on these tyres... I know the Ford Ranger guys are having similar problems with their Goodyear tyres..

yes, they all do this on the D4s, no one could tell me why.

There was some suggestions from the dealer that this is due to drivers turning the steering wheel too much while stationary, but who really knows.

they also told me it wasn't a safety issue, but I never found out as I replaced them with AT tyres a few months later.

Same problem on my D3. Both Wrangler and Efficient Grip have the same issue.
