Default Mountain passes of the Southern Cape

I have spent a week or two riding the mountain passes, on and off road in the Southern Cape, Six Passes, between George and Plett. Prince Alfred pass, Plett to Uniondale. Montague Pass, Herold to George. Garcia pass, Riversdale to Ladismith. Rooiberg pass, van Wyksdporp to Calitsdorp. Huis river pass, Calitsdorp to Ladismith. Swartberg pass, Oudtshorn to Prince Albert , Meirings poort is between Klaarstroom and DeRust. Lastly the Robinson pass between Oudtsshoorn and Mossel Bay. I missed a few passes but they will bring me back again. The surfaces are good, they are well kept, rubbish is under control. What a pleasure!, The area reminds me of Colorado in the USA. Overseas tourists are plenty. 4x4?, no need, small city cars are all over and cope very well. I camped and relocated a few times. Hindsight, I should have set up camp in George and used that as a base, perfectly accessible to all the passes. (included a few photos)

Everybody should do this before going off to some distant shore for a holiday.?
There is no task too simple for some people to complicate !

The best resource on SA passes is Tregve Roberts' website https://www.mountainpassessouthafrica.co.za/ Some content is free, but for a modest R250/yr you get access to a vast store of info, including GPS co-ordinates, profiles, and videos made while he drove every pass. Searching function also very good for when you visit a specific area and want to know which passes are there.
