    Default Yellow Spanner

    Hi guys,

Just a quick question for all you clever people out there! Last night, the yellow spanner came on, and i lost power for a split second, then everything was fine.
The same thing happened just now again. What do you guys think can be the cause?

    Any help would be appreciated...

If I'm not mistaken the spanner light is the service indicator for the sudden power los i haven't got any ideas there is a list of thing to check but I dont want to give you the wrong advice but it is possible you've got a dirty feul filter

It went for a service a bit more than a week ago, so don't think it could be that.

It could be a number of things.

Take it to the dealer so they can do a diagnostic.

It could be something simple as a leak or a dirty sensor

I would ask if they reset the service light, but the loss of power ! Take it back and get it scanned to be safe

Yellow spanner can come on as well if there is something that needs to be replaced or fixed. Like for example I had the lite come on and it was a fuse that needed to be replaced. Not saying this is the issue though, just stating that its not specifically a service reset.

The fact that the lite comes on and engine looses power might be related. Sounds like for a moment some issue is causing the lite to come on, and this issue also is possibly putting the car into "limp" mode for the moment. It only lasts for a split second which is weird, almost like something is loosing connection for a moment. Perhaps a sensor starting to act up and giving intermittent issues and forcing car into limp mode for that moment.

Does your engine lite also come on for that moment or just the spanner?

Best is to have a dealer or workshop check for fault codes.
