    Default Sabie , 4x4 / MX / enduro & forest tracks

Moto Cross & 4x4 Obstacle track in Sabie .

    FEEDBACK WANTED !

I am about to start building a Moto Cross track and 4x4 obstacle course in Sabie near Ceylon / Falls / Stables road . The forestry companies never allowed any such activities on forestry property and this would be a first in the Lowveld . The property boasts infrastructure , water , electricity and numerous derelict buildings that we want to incorporate in to the track for a one off experience .

The forest loop boasts 4 waterfalls with stop over points and the property will have accommodation , tent and camping spaces , 2 bomas , ablution blocks , a kiddies off road track . a community kitchen , a club house and a large paved pre event scrutineers facility .

We are looking at incorporating a urban warfare / paintball centre on the property as well and to include a kiddies track .

Motorsport South Africa , Ignition TV on DSTV and various printed publications have blessed this venture to feature on national level as well as hosting MSA events .

Do you think such a venture would be beneficial to Sabie tourism and local corporate and car dealer events and product launches , and will visitors from the Johannesburg area travel to Sabie for such a experience as well as making a holiday weekend visiting our local sites too ?

Any feedback , assistance and input on the layout of the track would be welcomed !

    Jean

We enjoyed a number of trips in that area and used to base ourselves in Sabi and would do so again. This is an added attraction for the area and I would probably try it out especially if there was a scenich and moderately challenging 4x4 route available as opposed to just a 4x4 track.

From a commercial perspective I am sure you have considered what constitutes your bread and butter trade to cover overheads and which are highly variable revenue streams of which, myself being JHB based would probably classify as.

It seems very nice and like you said, it's all about marketing and the right exposure. I see there are some pockets of indigenous forest in the encircled area while the rest seems completely transformed by forestry practices. Is it idyllic as well or will the focus mostly be on challenges? In other words, will it be worthwhile to bring the binoculars and bird books or will the buzz of ATV's probably permeate the whole section? Good luck!

Hi guys and thanks for the input .

I will have a track for " normal " drivers at a moderate level and I will keep you updated on how far the opening is .

Are there any members in the Nelspruit area willing to visit us and give input and feedback ?

What happened to this idea: https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum...d.php?t=280856

And what are your planned pricing structures. By sharing that, we will be in a better position to say if it will work or not.

Will it be self drive or guided? This is for the 4x4 trails.

Hi . We sold that property in March as new developers came to us . It did very well thus the reason for the next venture that will hopefully go on for many years to come . And yes , it will be self drive with marked routes as getting lost is a great concern to us .
