Default Chobe, Vic Falls quick trip report

EDIT: March 22 - I have added in the column I wrote for Die Burger/Netwerk24 on the trip at the end of this thread:

Hi, just back from a five day flying trip to Ngoma Safari Lodge in Chobe and Victoria Falls Safari Lodge in Zim. I have never seen it so wet and green, both the Chobe and Zambezi are pumping, it is wonderfully green and several loops in Chobe are impassable because of water. We saw over a thousand elephants in one day between Sedudu and Ihaha. Here are a few pictures:Click image for larger version.

the rains were very late coming but they have certianly made up for it.
Everywhere is very lush and stunning, I think you were lucky to see so much in such a short visit.

It is so good to see everything so green and lush, and the animals in good condition. Fantastic pics - what camera are you using?

Hi Shirley, my fairly elderly Nikon D90 with an 18-105mm and an 80-300mm lens. I travel light!

We had an excellent guide who took us through the Chobe waterfront - Nsehengwa "MK" Mukamba from Ngoma Safari Lodge. One of the best I have been with, and he really knows his birds.

Great photos, Tony! You've really captured something of how wonderful it is to be in those wild places. And you've made being stuck in an office today both a bit more bearable and a touch harder

And finally, a few lodge pics - for a change, I wasn't bush camping, but stayed in the absolute lap of luxury at Ngoma Safari Lodge and Victoria Falls Safari Lodge: (edit, apologies - I can't get it to load as a slide show for some reason. If you hover over the thumb nails, the caption will pop up and tell you where the shots are taken)
