Default Central Kalahari Planning - July 2018

We plan to do a trip in CKGR as follows in July:

Day 2 : Deception Camp (Circle route over Passarge)
Day 3: Deception Camp - Piper
    Day 4 : Piper
Day 5 : Piper to Xaxa
    Day 6: Xaxa to Rakops

This is meant to be a circle route. Stay over at Deception Camp. Do circle route over Passarge. Travel to Piper-Xaxa-Malapo to vet fence and then to Matswere Gate. Unfortunately Mapsource will not route from vet fence to Matwere Gate as you can see on map. There is apparently a road next to fence.

We will be travelling with 4 vehicles where 3 has off-road caravans. All has long range fuel tanks and we will take extra fuel.

I understand that there may be water at Xade albeit only for washing. Is this correct ?

Your comments suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Its too rushed. Why not concentrate on deception for all days, you could visit letiahau, Sunday while at Deception. 6 days for all that, you will spend more time packing and unpacking camping equipment .

    +1 with that
In addition the route form Xaka to Malopo is not used often, very sandy and partially overgrown.
One more issue, bookings for July - 2018 that is- will possibly be difficult at this stage as this is main season and lots might be full.

    Edit:
On the water at Xaka, I understand it is a water hole but not a stand pipe or usable for human use. I might be wrong, a long time since I was there.

Too much! As Pat suggests, I would stay put in Deception. At this point in time, the Deception sites are all you might be able to get.

+3 agree with others - Deception only - otherwise far too much traveling.
