Default Oz Tent RV-4 Full unboxing and setup with Suzuki Jimny

My friend Tomasz was wanting a roof tent for ages but as he is driving a little Suzuki Jimny he knew it would look stupid up there.

So he decided to go for the Oz Tent RV-4.

He came over to my house so we could make a video of the unboxing and the setup for the very first time so we could share it with you all.

Does anyone else have an Oz Tent?

I have one.. Some memorably camping trips from the West Coast of South Africa right up to to Terrace Bay in Namibia.
When I got back after 3 weeks it had a few holes in the floor from camping in some real tough terrain... I asked for suggestions on how to repair it at the outlet where I bought it... They send it back to the manufacturer and replaced it with a brand new one!

We bought the extention and our family of 5 slept comfortably in the two "rooms"

Sadly we don't camp any more and the Oztent is collecting dust in the garage.

Excellent tent. We did the KNP Lebombo trail with an RV5 last year, sleeping every night in a different camp.
Then added some nights in Punda Maria, and erected the extra room as well.

See also the "Oztent owner's thread".

You will have to sell your tent to me then.

Does anyone else have an Oz Tent? Great ground tent sidewalls are well worth getting.

He is going to buy the sidewalls when he gets a few quid together. Looks great with the walls.

How do they hold up in strong winds? We are usually camping right on the coast here in Ireland its its generally windy and sometimes, scary.

Great in the wind. Only issue was in the namib desert where strong wind managed to get sand underneath the back flap. Otherwise our RV5 is 8 years old and going strong.
