Default Outing - 4x4 Trail Drive. Piesang Kloof. 4th of March

I for one believe it was the first and last time a Defender, land cruiser 76 105 FJ, gelandewagen, wrangler rubicon, patrol, unimog and SFA Frontier will be on the same trip together.

    The defender is gone.
New Patrol has gone soft IFS.
New Gelandewagen has gone soft IFS.
New Unimogs just lacks the charm of the bullnose shape and has gone too high tech.
Disco 2 was last if the SFA’s, new ones are too high tech.
Sakkies isuzu is a one off beast, probably the only sfa frontier in SA and definitely the best off road.

The JK and 76 are the only two SFA 4x4’s left....

SFA is clearly a dying breed and it was awesome to share a trail with the very best of them.

    Hear, hear!
But, of course, we are all all still here, so we should just arrange another one again! But this was definitely quite the combination of vehicles.

Ja well, Sakkie.... The Isuzu in question has an epic driver and epic modifications.
You two are a unique combination :-)

The Unimog has a driver with enough guts to get himself in trouble, but less than 1/10th of your experience.

I hope that we will be getting into trouble together again soon.

    Thanks Ian!

    Well done on this GTG.

We were actually not that far from you at Barnardsvlei, we had about 27 vehicles at the club AGM.

So over 40 vehicles did some 4x4'ing in the Mooi Nooi area over the weekend - not too shabby.

Is Barnardsvlei a 4x4 trail? I cant find any info on it on the interwebs?
If so, is it any good?

All thanks must go to HedgeHog for arranging it, and all that attended. It was fun.

He drives a Fortuner. A gravel road is like 4x4 to him
Always think: Could this be sarcasm?

The easiest place to find them is on FaceBook. There is a link from the 4x4 Action Group page to the video and photos that have been posted from the AGM. I had a great time on my first outing with my "new" Disco 2 Td5 auto.

    It's next to Afri Sun.
It is closed to the general 4x4 community because they caused trouble there in the past.
In fact they closed it altogether, but now they will allow members of a club in on the assumption that the club rules will control behavior.
So the 4x4AG had the entire 80 000 hectares (or however big it is) to ourselves.

The trail is not that challenging, on a par with the main route at Piesangskloof, but Forgey managed to have fun in his Patrol, so it's not that mild.
