We will be discussing this in the pretrail meeting, but Swifts Pass will be done after the main trail has been completed. There are other options but this will be discussed there.

    Going to be great fun!

I said the same thing when I was in my 20's but these days I cant do without it... age and the fact that my cruisertjie has 35 x 12.5" muds. This makes turning beast difficult unless you are someone like Dwayne Johnson.

Don't worry, I'm bringing the vehicle to recover the Toyotas with
But I'm glad there is more than one Landy going too!

A braai afterwards it is then! Pity about the no-fires and no-shade-on-top-of-the-mountain thing, I'm sure the views would be stunning.
We should totally stop on top of the mountain and have a snack and a (non-alcoholic) drink though.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Just a note on road conditions for people coming through from Jhb or Pta today / tomorrow.

The road between the R511 and damdoryn (the road that goes past Seasons golf course and Mount Amanzi) is being resurfaced and there is a long stop / go.

There was also protest action by the road workers two days ago, which resulted in the stretch of road being closed. I am unsure as to whether it is open again.

Just bear that in mind when you plan your route to Piesangkloof.

    We're already camping.

    Suggested route:
N4 turn-off at Brits/Randburg. Go left and follow road to T-junction with Sasol direct ahead. Turn right and follow. This is the old Dam/Rustenburg road. At the weighbridge traffic light look for signboard and gravel road at left.

Have anybody asked Johan (Swift) for his tracklog (GPS), or is it clearly marked?
