Default Trans Botswana Trip - Maun to Kasane - Chobe Camping issues

    Dear 4x4 adventurers,

I am planning to drive from Maun through Chobe National Park to Kasane during March this year, which i believe is a 600km drive, and have two small children with me, so i would like to break up the long drive and stop over to camp in Chobe for one night, however we can't find any available camping sites.

would i be able to do this distance in one day if i cant find a camp site, and does anyone know what condition the roads are in at the moment?

Would it rather be better to drive back to Nata and then Kasane?

    thanks

    No, no.

There is absolutely no sense to just drive that distance as a transit option and you will not make it in one day through the park anyway. If you can find space in Savuti, then maybe you can do it. But if it should rain and the roads are under water / muddy that will also turn into a bad idea.

I would go back to Nata and then Kasane on the tar. That is easy in one day.

Edit: please make sure to give your kids malaria prophylaxis.
