Making sure the jocky wheel doesnt bend the Lip channel. Welded a flat bar in underneath, and used 5mm flatbar to make (washers) inserted them on the outside and 5mm flat bar vertically on the inside of the channel to give it enough support and to make sure the jocky wheel stays upright under weight. The actual bracket of the jockey wheel tends to bend so hopefully the flat bar on the outside spreads the force over a larger surface

I tightened it with an air tool that the tyre fitment centres use.

I see that you are putting some thought into what you are doing. I like what you have done so far. That is goung to be a decent trailer when you are finished

Looking good. That trailer will be a lot stronger now. On my Campmaster trailer the A-frame is bolted to the loadbody, as well as the leaf springs. I am not very happy with this setup either. And the A-frame is already rusted after only a few years at the coast, so I have to strip it off sometime to galvanise it. Might beef it up when I do.

Have you found any mesh? The local steel supplier sells stainless mesh in 900*600mm sizes for braai grids, was R180 last time I bought some. Maybe ask around for something similar?

I havent done anymore shopping for it, I will however keep it in mind when I do thanks. Good luck with yours, I see you live near the coast, Galvanising is the answer. You do get Cold Galv paint as well. It eill be al lot cheaper. It might work well enough for you but use rustconverter paint first, it kills the rust quite well. I made an extention for my rubberducks trailer a few years back so that you can pull it out so that the car is as far away from the sea water as possible when launching in the Harbour. Its like an extension arm. I painted it with cold galv paint and it holds up very well.

Ok so I havent built the basket thats suppose to fit between the trailer and nosecone yet. I did however finishd the paint, and decided to fit the nosecone in its original place for now, so I can use it in the mean time.

Dankie. Ja hy is verseker reg.

If you have not found the mesh yet, steel and pipes for Africa behind oriental plaza in Centurion sells the stainless braai mesh pre-cut. Also double check that you jockey wheel handle can rotate once the cone is moved forward.
