Can you get us a shot from the side of the pitman / steering drop-arm?

I need to see where the two left hand side ends mount.

Is it on the axle mount or onto the pitman arm? It's not clear from the pic.

Not sure, and cannot see clearly from the pic... but a number of us XJ'ers have a cross brace on the front chassis rails. It stops the steering pump side from cracking when we do serious off-road work.

    Google it. Maybe something similar?

I saw this recently on another RHD TJ post from OZ I think.

It's a brace that is used with a dropped bracket for the track bar. The drop bracket might not be strong enough so they brace it to the opposite chassis arm. Pretty sketchy solution I reckon.

I think that's what it is anyway.

Pro comp track bar brace , for the lowering bracket on the track bar when the jeep is lifted , Have the same on mine . The two bars have rose joints at the end to adjust ,broken them in extreme articulation . Part of my plans is to remove them and weld on a drop track bar bracket that is a lot stronger , as this still has a bit of movement in the set up . But it does the job .

Had the jeep in for wheel alignment after new set of muds, seems to be some play from the bottom bar. Also jeep makes a strange sound when turning the wheels.

Where did you purchase new ones when replacing?

anyone want to buy a 6 month old trackbar? bought at jeep dealership, Mopar.

had enough of the brace the jeep currently has, going to order an adjustable trackbar and remove the brace as well as the poles re in forcing it.

Where are you getting the ADJ Trackbar from? Just be very sure it's for right hand drive otherwise 90% chance it won't clear the diff and be useless to you.

    Nope.

I was an idiot and torqued the ever living Fudge out of the ball joint at first because of a dodgy torque value I found on the internet. It is NOT 110ft-lbs Loosened it and torqued it properly and it's been fine.

Is it fine if I just remove the brace and the poles and fit the adjustable trackbar? Is there anything else that would need to change?

Wait you should have a dropped pitman arm too right?

The trackbar needs to be parallel with the steering draglink. Usually when people do a drop trackbar bracket like you have, they then also install a drop pitman arm to lower the top of the stering draglink as well so the 2 bars stay parallel.

So you may have to get a stock pitman arm.
