    Zero cost
Last as long as you ask it to last - weekend or a week. More than that and they may start asking questions
It is tied to the vehicle registration plate

You don't get a criminal record by paying an admission of guilt fine. Instructing (and paying!) an attorney to represent you in court with numerous postponements and frustration and waiting and travelling time will cost tens of thousands of bucks, without a guarantee that you will not be found guilty by a grumpy magistrate and still have to pay the fine as well.
    Not too sure about that
Received the following annexure to written notice to appear in court in terms of section 56 of the criminal procedures act, 1977(act 51 of 1977)

....... the accused is further informed as follows:

"Should you pay the admission of guilt fine, you will be deemed to have been convicted and sentenced by the court with jurisdiction in respect of the stipulated offence(s)"

"On payment of the above-mentioned admission of guilt fine, such conviction and sentence will appear on your criminal record"

Paying an acknowledgement of guilt fine for "lessor" offences such as speeding fines and traffic related matters does not give you a criminal record. They do not take your fingerprints for those offences and the criminal record system is partly based on fingerprinting to identify offenders. So if they don't take your prints, you will not get a criminal record.

I spoke to prosecutor down in Barberton after having to pay traffic admission of guilt fine. Her reply, yes in theory you get a "criminal record" in that a narration is made against your name however she said it doesnt turn up on searches for something like visas etc.

I have also come to hear that the only way people can check 100% if you have a record is through fingerprints so if no prints were taken no worries. You'll be fine.

    Hi Guys

Does the Jacaranda wreck still exist. I was there 10 years ago and would like to go again if it is still there.

Your prints are taken when you get your 1st issue drivers license, renewal of your ID and when you apply for a passport. Im sure it wont be too long before those databases are used for the implementation of AARTO
