You guys need to add those little airline connectors.
I did not have them in Botswana and it eventually cost me R11000.
Got basically the same, including maxtrax, extra spare wheel, air bag jack.

If it is something electronic that goes wrong in the bush then tools might not help much.

Telephone nrs doesn’t take much space. I would certainly take the number of Henris or TuffStuff with me

Spare valves and a valve spanner......if you deflate your tyres a lot (by removing the valve) its crazy not to have spares. And one of these https://www.amazon.com/Stop-Go-1075-...26+go+puncture

The only things I actually carry for the Disco is the iCarsoft and some fuses, never needed anything else.

I do carry other tools, tape, etc, but that is due to my work, and needing to repair/help repair things in the bush.

If you don't have a IID tool and you do certain repairs that give major errors you will still be stuck as you cannot clear the errors, and you remain in limp mode.

    Suspension rods
Spare alternator (nice to have, if you cant fit it somebody will have the tools to do so)
    Good tyres and repair kit
Self valcanising tape (it repairs everything, it even repaired a ruptured air pipe on mine)
    6mm push on fitting
    Hawkeye or similar diagnostic machine
    Spare fuel filter

    To do before hand
    Change the water outlet assembly
    Service compressor

Great vehicle for touring and doing the rough stuff, refrain from using EPB in areas if you traveled in mud and water for long periods, get it cleaned out and reset thereafter at home

    Greetings all.

Due to unforeseen circumstances , I completed a 8500km overlandtrip ,+- 40% on sand and bad gravel, with a totally unprepared D4.

Main failures were puntures and an alternature failure .. Position of D4 alternator does not like mudpools.

All above equipment plus decent hydraulic jack with additional baseplate is always recommended

I also always carry a spare alternator (and those thin special tools to get the fan off!). Actually, my spare is now fitted, and I'm about to overhaul the old one to carry as a spare

Really? I have done over 20,000km offroad in Botswana during the rainy season on both the pans and the delta and haven't once had an alternator/ mud issue.... hmmmm

Important addition for a D3/D4: a hex (not twelve point socket) for the wheel nuts PLUS another 1mm smaller one for the wheel nuts after you have taken off the thin stainless steel sheet cover. And power bar or 3/4" drive bar and reducer if your sockets are 1/2" drive.

Stores easily under one of the back (middle row) seats, next to the hydraulic jack and blocks of wood.
