    Default Camping/Accomodation in Sabie

    Hi all
I will be visiting Kruger later this month, travelling in a motorhome from Joburg to Orpen Gate; I want to have a stop on my way before entering the park, and am looking for advice about possible accomodations around Sabie.
    Any recommendation?
    Thanks!
    Nicolas

Never stayed there myself but Merry Pebbles in Sabie is apparently quite good.

In Sabie, as mentioned you basically got Merry Pebbles, Sabie River Camp and Castle rock.. There is also a few spots between sabie and Hazyview, like Mackers and Aan de Vliet (only 4 campsites).

Take the R536 for 45 km to Hazyview Numbi Hotel & Caravan Park, where they have a lovely camp site in town off the Main Road,
which will get you closer to your destination the next day. We camped there end July on our way into the Kruger.
Just down the road from a big Pick & Pay Centre where you can do all your last minute shopping before entering the Park
Camp site sheltered, with many trees, birds and great ablutions...

Peter, there is a high security fence around the property, it is next to a small (maybe Private Airfield, on which small planes/microlights, take off & land). You do not see or hear the town traffic, lots of big shade trees. A nice space to be in. I think we went in at Phabeni Gate...

Hi all, would you have any suggestion for a stopover between Joburg and KNP (and not as far as Sabie) as I am unsure when I will be able to leave the airport/rental company depot in JNB. I will drive via N12-N4 via Witbank.

With all due respect, why do you want to stop over?

Get an extra night at Skukuza then you don't have to worry about security.

Hi all, I finally spent one night in Merrypebbles; the place was very good and I would recommend it strongly (perfect maintenance, full set of facilities,...). Thanks for your advice!

Old thread but just some info on Mackers River Bend - we wanted to go camp there again over Easter but were told by owner camping not possible anymore with own tents or trailers etc.
They are converting the whole camp to pre-erected tents.
It really is a shame, as this was a very very nice secluded shady river view camp.
Guess I will have to stay in their tent in the future...
