Default Masaai Mara - through my lens

As done in the Northern Cape (Kgalagadi), Zimbabwe (Mana Pools) and Botswana (Chobe) sections I would like to share some of my images of my travels through this beautiful country with members. I have been to various parks in Kenya but mostly before my hobby developed into a serious passion. This post will therefor mostly cover Maasai Mara, which I visited in September 2015 (Been on my bucket list to see the crossings). Obviously there are more to see than just the actual crossings.....

Again, in the Mara did the wet season impair the roads at all? I envisage many of the minor tracks, not being raised or cambered at all, would be difficult.

February is the dry season in the Mara. But “grass rains” might have kept everything looking green for Tobie’s February visit. Nowadays, with climate change, the rainfall patterns are more difficult to predict. But February is a prime time to visit Kenya.

    Great photos, Tobie. Asante sana!

Confirms Wazungu's remark. It was not wet at all but still nice and green, it can get hot but not a problem at all. Rates at lodges are substantially lower in the off season. I went on an all inclusive package so can not give the exact price but 25% lower than the same trip in peak season. The bonus is the "absence" off the tourists, very few vehicles around which makes it excellent for photography.

We saw 6 crossings, 2 croc kills and a lion kill in 3 days in the Mara in 2018 to name a few. Where are going this year? Masaai Mara
