Bridge not finished at Katembe, but the road is tarred up to 10km from Kosi Border, as was reported on DriveMoz

We are bracing for a wait but could always plan to go through Swaziland instead if we knew it was going to be a mess .

    Any advice much appreciated.
We will report on DriveMoz if the border will be 24h open. albeit, it might be busy

After some negotiations between the Presidenets of Moz and SA, it should have been a 1 stop 24h. But you know what Zuma did, he did not worry about his promises .. well nothing happened, we do however believe it will be 24h open, it will be announced on DriveMoz

So for me it is - THANKS MOZAMBIQUE, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND WE MIGHT CONSIDER AGAIN.
Each country has its rules. since its SADEC most rules are the same. Botswana and Nam also has rules, so learn them before you go/ That is what the FB Groups DriveMoz / bots / Nam /Zim tries to assist with

Road is tarred, except 10km from Kosi. Katembe bridge not finished, we recommend you do Boane / Alternative Ring road, rather via Maputo. Dont Drive at night, its too far for one day. Sleep over at Macaneta - maybe Tan n Biki. Blue anchor is closed now (for public)

    Hello MrDeeSa,
maybe you could help regarding the following questions:
We plan to spend 5 or 6 days in MOZ from Jhb on next may. Intially, we wanted to visit Maputo and Ponta do Ouro and back to SA by Kosi Bay.
Regarding the situation and without 4x4, we are going to avoid Ponta do Ouro and just focus on Maputo and surroundings.

The planning trip would be from Nelspruit: 1 night in Maputo / 2 days in Bilene or Xai-Xai/ back to Maputo for 2 days and return by Swaziland border (Goba).

So, could you please adavice for the following questions:

1- we are french but from Reunion Island and there no Moz embassy in our country: can you confirm we can get visa at the border?

2- I will be with my son (he is 15years old): is the unabridged birth certificate the same than that one I have to produce when entering in South Africa?

3- we plan to travel with our 2 mountain bikes of big value: would it be a problem at the border post?

4- Is the road to Goba border post doable with a sedan car?

5- can we reach Bilene without 4x4?

    Thanks for all your advice,

    best regards,

    Laurent
