Hallo Oradba69,

Please check that you have updated your app - this looks like the older version of the app. The new app is Version 2.2.2 - if you go to the app in your online store, it should show that there is an update available.

Once you have updated, click on the three lines on the top right, and click on In-app purchases. You will see a list of available maps, scroll right down to the bottom and there will be a high definition map. You will first have to install at least 3 of your purchased maps onto your device, for the high definition map to be available for free.

Please me know if you come right.

Are you perhaps using Apple devices? I just found out that it was only the Android app that updated in February, our developer has started on the update for Apple, and it should be released in the next few weeks - no confirmed date yet.

Hi Lizette nee nog nie sukkel om my e-pos op die tablet te laai. Wel dit is daar maar wil nie konekteer nie omdat my settings nie reg is nie. Dit is telkom so ek wag totdat die grendel tyd verby is sodat ek na hulle winkel kan gaan sodat hulle dit daar kan opstel.

As jy inlog, moet jy jou email address gebruik om in te log wat jy op die ou tablet gebruik het - dan behoort die kaarte te wys as "purchased". As jy moet die ou email address inlog, en dit wys nog steeds dat jy dit moet aankoop, wat gebeur as jy dan op een van die kaarte click - vra dit vir kredietkaart details?

Thanks Lizette buts that not quite the same thing. Carplay / Android auto support would allow your app to be shown on the cars built in screen when your phone is connected to the car. Its not that difficult for your developer to implement so if they aren't doing it then you have to wonder why?

Hi Paul,

Would be interested to know if its a very simply implementation. The initial CarPlay and Android Auto programme was on invitation only, i.e. not open to all apps.

For that reason we did not bother with it but I know its now open and you are allowed to implement. For the Navigation app it will not happen since thats a third party app and the company who built this app does not seem very keen on doing it. But for the Guide app we will certainly look into it as this is under our own development control. But as you can imagine there are not many developers out there with this experience since it was essentially a closed program. If you have inside news please ping me at [email protected] and I would like to chat.

I am actually looking to install an Android based head unit in my car so you can install your apps straight from Google Play. Then there is no need to even synch your phone. I tested the mirror link type connections and this is way to slow for mapping apps, really bad experience.

Hi, I was hoping to have this out in production by now but our initial developer quit the job through lockdown. I have a new team working on the updated version and we are making good progress. My guess is another two months before we go into production.

Greetings all,

The update for our T4A Guide Application on iOS is finally available! We recommend that you first uninstall the old version from your phone and then install the new app, and then restore your purchased maps - that will avoid any migration issues.

The updated app now also includes the High Definition(HD) map as we have on Android. The free app will come bundled with a free base map, but users who own three or more guides will also be able to download the HD map for free. The Free version of the HD map will become visible after you restore your guides (if you have three or more). If you only purchase one guide, but would like the HD map with it, you can purchase the HD map for R199.
