Hi Neels - restoring the purchase should have worked, although I found my older maps are pale in comparison to the new HD maps, well worth purchasing the R199 option for the whole African continent.

Please assist - I have deleted the old app from my iPad and installed the new one from the app store as recommended by Lizette. I then clicked on the restore purchases under my maps and guides and only my Namibia Guide came back. My South Africa and Botswana Guides are now showing demo mode.
Any idees on how to get the SA and Botswana Guides back?

Installed the new app version and it is not good. How do I go back to my old app?

The cities like Bloemfontein, Pretoria etc are no display, only if one zoom in then can you see them but then the full picture is missing. Maybe one can decrease the letter sizes, not sure.

Did you purchase or download the HD map as well or only the basemap?

No, the size of the font cannot be changed, the zoom level that you are using will determine the size of the font. If you zoom far out e.g. to see most of Southern Africa, there is a huge amount of information to display, and some information will "disappear" from the screen - preference will be given to main highways and larger cities or towns. If two cities are close together, e.g. Pretoria and Johannesburg, or Bloemfontein and Kimberley, there will not be room to display both on the screen and you will need to zoom in to see the other city.

Just looking at the two screenshots, you have installed the HD map already. You can uninstall this and see if you are happier with the display on the basemap, which will be similiar to the older app. But remember that you cannot zoom in past 5km on the basemap, and a lot of detail that you can see on the HD map (e.g. streets and other minor icons), is not available on the basemap.

I have confirmed that uninstalling the HD map will not change the look of the basemap, apologies. But we are looking at showing more detail at a higher zoom level for the next update.
