Please define the term "moegoe" - I think I may be one.

If I am what do I need to do to rectify the situation?

    Maybe that is not possible?
Maybe I am a happy moegoe and better off than some other different moegoes.

    Hey!!! Don't get me started.
I can talk K** with the best - you get back what you give - like a boomerang (Oh! That's Aussie) or to be correct (?) Oz.

    So ja .... (Sorry!)

    Was this offensive enough?

By controlling what you say, it is hoped, in certain quarters, that what you think can also be controlled and directed along a certain line.

So if you have interests in forwarding a minority agenda, LGBT for example, you get certain words to be deemed offensive and then you slap penalties on to that.

Alternatively, if you run out of intellect to defend a position, you can use certain words, like Racist, Bigot, Misogynist, to close counter arguments, as all of these traits are deemed offensive.

Although the thread has descended into brevity one needs to be very mindful.

As a generalisation there is no question that most peoples of the world have become over sensitive and this tends to emanate from those firmly planted on the left of the political spectrum. It is a mindset often born of privilege where people have yet to experience the rigors of the real world. Conversely I find that people on the right of the political spectrum tend to be far more tolerant when it comes to opinions voiced and sensitivity.

Many also have a very low EQ (often caused by abuse) which hardly helps.

Having said which it all speaks to intent. What was you intent when uttering your choice chosen words. If you intended offense then do not be surprised if you get some backlash. Many insult people and when people take exception accuse them of being oversensitive asd they "did not mean it that way". Unfortunately there are also those who will seek offense in everything that is said.

Another thing is the keyboard which affords one anonymity from retaliation. It is much easier to tell a street brawler he is a box on the keyboard than to his face.

Finally it also speaks to relationships. When I walk into the pub I am greeted with some of the most offensive speak, as are all in our group. This is an odd form of manly affection because of the relationship. None of you could walk into that scenario and foul mouth me. For the same reason an African American can call another African American Ni&&er but just you try and check the nuclear fallout.

So it has become complex because the same behavior is totally acceptable in one scenario and taboo in another.

In general yes, I too get tired of walking on eggs around certain individuals, who may it be said, when offended give back 20X what they received, but that's suddenly OK.
