Yup...sorry Unodewaal, but whenever we've had a roof kinked like that the chassis has bent badly. Hope you're the exception though. Good luck.

Took the car to 2 places, attached are the quotes. R20k from the one place, and a write-off from the next.

I'm not sure what the insurance guys are going to say.

I'm already looking at other cars

Since I've taken the car in though, it's become apparent that there was some body work done to the car before - specifically at the section where most of the damage was done (i.e. front left). Looks like the bumper/fender had been repaired before, and there's a rather large knock behind the wheel as well (something I've spotted before as well).

    Oh well.

Uno, let them write it off, then buy it back and build a monster out of it!!

Cut and caged, 35's, Gorman rear axle, trussed D30 on long arms and the insurance will pay for it. Sheez what's not to like!

hehe, I found out insurance is going to pay out. It's going to be in the region of R20k, Powers/Endee panelshop is doing the repairs.
There's a whole bunch more on the estimate than required, so I hope to be able to bring the costs down even more (they charging R120 to remove the roofracks...)
