    Subject: Serengeti Briefing -
    Western Cape

Hi all Western Cape Clubs / 4x4 Organisations / 4x4 vendors
One of my club members, runs a professional outfit which takes 4x4 self drive safaris to the Serengeti (as the main destination – many other stop over’s etc. included). He has done over 15 of these trips and is known as one of the top specialists in this area. These tours are mostly catered, but this can be discussed.
The reason for this email is that we are doing a briefing for the 4x4 Offroad Adventure Club’s members in Cape Town who are joining us on our trip in June 2009, in Cape Town on Friday 30 January 2009, and are willing to have a no strings attached, general information session (discussion, presentation and video) on these trips, on the Saturday morning (31 January 2009) for your members / interested parties clients.
There are no costs attached with this. This session will be held at 09h00, at the Multi Motor Clubhouse in Parow at the Municipal Sports Grounds with easy access just off the N1 at Plattekloof. For exact directions, contact Kevin Harris on 0832861602 (he has obliged to organize a venue for us). BRING A CAMPING CHAIR!!!!
If your club or members may be interested, would you please circulate this accordingly, and get them to RSVP to me directly ([email protected]), as we will have a little 2009 program handout for each person) , where after we will communicate with them. If you feel you want to coordinate the RSVP, please feel free to do so, and just keep me n the loop directly.
The Serengeti is one of those MUST DO BEFORE YOU DIE, once in a lifetime experiences, and we will be happy to take you there as well. Put a CLUB PACKAGE together for 2010 / 2011, with a savings plan as we did and it becomes an affordable adventure for all….We still have vacancies in our squad for the June 2009 trip, which is a non catering / self drive trip. More details on the day
I look forward to your positive response hereto. Call me if there are any queries.

Just some feedback on this event.

On Saturday we had a reasonable turn out, 20 people which was not bad. The talk and discussion was great and it was nice to get Alex Smit's take on the trip to Serengeti.

He seems like a great character to sit next to the camp fire at night and came across very knowledgeable. If you have the bucks and can get the June/July School holidays off I would definitely recommend this trip, contact Alan if you are interested, still 4 places open.

It was also good to meet Alan and put a face to the voice/words.

Good luck with your trip and thanks for coming to chat with us.

Hopefully Gadget will post a few pictures here. Thanks to all the attendee's .
