Ag no Sakkie... would you be able to do next week then? I mean, it's not cast in stone, this Saturday is just the first day that Ferdi and I could both come.
Would really love for you to join.

That would depend on how this weekend goes Dawid. If all pans out, yes, but if more work is required, then next weekend is out as well.

As luck would have it, we have to delay in anyway (my friend's children are taking part in an important sporting event).
We have a Unimog Freunde committee meeting on the next Saturday morning, so perhaps we shoud push this out by 2 weeks to 4 Nov ?

We did the first half of this trail this past weekend. Not exactly the walk in the park some people make it out to be. But we packed some rocks and made it more accessible for other 4x4 vehicles.

The second half still needs to be conquered, as we ran out of time. Apparently there are some interesting parts in that section of the trail..

Thanks Johan, and also for posting a video that shows more of the trail.
Yes, this is why we want to go early-ish in the morning, to give us time to complete the whole trail, difficult bits and loops and all.

So, it's looking like 4 Nov for us then - ample time for anybody else to make a plan and join us...

It is quite an interesting trail. Somehow I get the impression there are people out there that think nothing of this trail. Although there were one or 2 less experienced drivers in our group of 5 Jeeps, it still took 3 hours to do 1.5km.

I definitely think that initially this trail should be done by the more experienced driver with above average vehicle capabilities. It may settle later on making it more accessible for other 4x4 vehicles, but for now I would see it as a challenge for the more experienced enthusiast.

Music to my ears, thanks! Glad it offers a good challenge.

Excellent set of pictures, thanks! I really can't wait until 4 Nov to go try it out.
That certainly does not look like a tame trail, for sure.
Anybody who says otherwise is just grandstanding.

Duster will do it with ease...

Sure, but it may be better to tow it behind me...
As long as the owner is happy that there is no guarantee that said Duster would still be upright at the end of the trail.
But I'm 90% certain it'll make it to the end with us, in one shape or another ;-)

On this topic, this is Ferdi helping out a 65ton truck that is stuck in the mud with his Unimog 416, last week:

4 Nov sounds good Dawid. Jy soek oh ate 2 ate oh 6 9 ate 9 oh.

Lekker pics Johan. Lyk soos pret.
