I miss some pics of the Cruiser and a very heavy Tractor.

Really the guys bragging about tow vehicles should spend so time and see what Henri hauls. Then the difference most of these recoveries are done on some bad dirt roads.

I use these heavy short hauls to find any weak spots in my rig. Then I can concentrate in getting those "soft spots" strengthened.

While loading the tractor I noticed some cracks in the a-frame. They were def not new as they had rust in them.

So yesterday I pulled out the A-frame and strengthened it.



This how I find any weak spots.

Also added 2 jacking points. Can use either the highlift or the other ones.

Got 2 of these jacks.

I regularly "kick the tyres". Check bearings. Check brakes. Look for cracks, actively. It is an item that takes the brunt of the punishment. Needs to stay reliable.

I am no Mech eng, but those that know modal analysis can tell you that sometimes making a trailer weaker (less stiff) can move your natural frequency outside a mode excited by the vehicle and increasing stiffness can move you smack into a mode likely to be excited by your driving.

This is why the Mech eng dudes have matric and design to optimize both performance and cost.

Not sure how this would help but sometimes making it stronger may be the wrong move. Again, I know the physics, but don’t know enough Mech Eng to offer any useful suggestions.

Yes, I understand where you are going with this. But I did not add rigidity on the the trailer. Just strength.

The whole trailer is actually very flexible.
