The dizzy is sorted. The float on the shaft was 1,9mm. I have shimmed it with a copper washer and it is now about 0,1mm. So I am sure it is good. Just waiting for Cargo World in Springs to get back to me on a cap, a rotor, points and a condenser.

Problem is that there is literally no space behind the dizzy, to the firewall. The owner brought a very nice fancy dizzy, but it is about 6" in diameter. The stock one is about 4"

But he wants to stick with the points. I would go with the module that 4x4 direct has on offer.

Old dizzies with points is a waste of time.

The Chevy Dizzy at the back of the engine is and will always be a challenge.

Better even fit a trigger wheel and crank sensor and dump the Dizzy

Been and back.

Was a trip for Tuffstuff and there were some serious health issues for the owner as well.

So I think I will just leave it at that.

But, it was 5,000km in 8 days. 4 border crossings and a 4hr load exercise in 50deg heat.

Went up to Kgaligadi again. Had to collect a Forward Control LR. 15B Toyota Dyna engine, and the pinion shaft cried enough.

But, it was 39km from Nossob. In the dunes.

Towed it out on a snatch strap. Then loaded at Nossob.

Now the trailer needs some TLC. I have broken the shackles that hold the blades, to many times.

So some mods and she will be better again.
