    Small update..
Something else to be ticked off the list soon.. Got the parts to stop the oil leaks..

Full headgasket kit at Alert engine parts was R200.
Midas menlyn qouted me R1200 for the exact same kit

I have noticed for some odd reason it is not loosing oil or water anymore.. I have now driven about 400km with it since I bought it, and topped up the oil once..and also the it is not loosing water anymore.. And dont see dripping oil/water drops on my box that I placed underneath it anymore..

I cleaned the plastic cover underneath the radiator today, so I will check if there is any build up further..

I added a pic of the headgasket kit i bought.. With the sump seal..

I have a question regarding replacing the Sump seal..
This might seem as a stupid question...
Can it be done without having to take the motor out?

I think so. If you have a hoist or a pit to work from.

Nah....Suzuki is high enough to lay under

Those would be helpful though....two or four trestle stands will work as well

Jack her up, place axle stands under the chassis rails. There is enough space to get the sump out, when the axle is drooped.

    P.S. I thought I saw you at T-Systems yesterday

Another Update little update to Spongebob.

This weekend my parents came to Visit and my dad helped me with the SJ. we had a look at the oil leaks, and well. Repaired it.

    Tapid cover gasket was replaced.
And we did a temp fix on the tapidcover bolt seals with gasket maker, as the bolt seals is damaged.

The main source of the oil leak was not the sumpgasket but the front crankseal that was leaking. The seal was not worn. But it was not the correct seal.

Opening up to get to it, we found that the bottom camshaft pully was inserted back the wrong way after some head scratching to how the previous person that worked on it got it to run and the timing done on it..

Seal was replaced and everything was cleaned and put back together. And filled up radiator with antifreeze.

I finally found the water leak.. Looks like the waterhoses is leaking by the clamps where it is fastened.. and also found that there is no thermostat.

    And then...
With the new exaust that was installed they did not install a flexipipe between the downpipe and new exaust part.. So the downpipe broke.. That is gonna be another R1500 to replace the downpipe at Noiseboys Hatfield..

Here is some pictures that I took..

    Coming along very nice!

Maybe just the photos, but it is a real breeze when you have so much space to work with.

    Keep the updates going!

For such a small car it really does have allot of space. Lol the raidator only have 4 bolts and it is off..
But with everything being so puny you also dont use allot of strength to fasten anything, otherwise you can easily strip a bolt..

Complete exhaust system with headers and two flex joints. Seems reasonable to me.

    ....but they are scarce.
Carb is an Aisin....also used in old Corollas. Mine were those kits.

Maybe time for an upgrade if the kit can't be found and the budget allows.
