But the car has now loosened up a bit and I have also become more used to the gearing - if you use the gears to suit the demands you can really get this thing moving. The car cruises on the highway at 120 without any hassles, no problems with passing slower traffic or uphills - you actually need to watch it, before you know it you sit at 130+. It has got good brakes, very good handling (apparently the slightly bigger wheels helps a lot) and is well built. Not a rattle or a squeak. The boot, of course, is something else though the removable floor gives you a surprising amount of space. It can be very cramped for four people - when I am driving (I'm 1.82) nobody sits behind me! When wifey drives, someone can fit behind her seat. We use the car mostly in stop-start traffic, which plays havoc with fuel consumption (16km/l is best) but for our purpose it works very well. Would I advise you to buy it? No, make your own decision! I do not know the Fiat and cannot compare.
Thanks, nice to get some real feedback

At the dealer I could compare the two side by side, and yes the pre-facelift model is a mixed bag.
No idea. Drove it last year December iirc and it was a 2Door.
I thought cool...a nice small cheap VW...then I got in it and drove it. I was really disappointed in it.

    If 2 door it's the pre-facelift.

The facelift brought a lot of perceived quality improvements, especially on the interior

To be honest, this decision is much like choosing one's favorite politician... Which one is the least worst?

Hi Johan ons het een van die vorige Panda 4x4's gehad. Dit was 'n great stads karretjie en omdat hulle so lig is werk daai 4x4 sisteem heel goed.

    I say the Angry Panda.

Also why are you worried about how long it will last. You will only have it for 5min before another car catches your eye.

If you buy the Angry UP you will still wonder about that Panda you never bought.

If you haven't noticed, I've stopped trading cars long ago

No seriously, back when I had a steady job and bought cars cash it was easy to chop and change. Now I have people depending on me and I have to pay off what I drive (like normal people do )

In the past if I messed up it was just me going hungry, now it's one bad move with a R200K car and 40 people go hungry.

I was forced to disclose my tradings to SARS and on paper I came out even in the end.

But for the amount of "free" entertainment it provided me, I feel I made more than I invested.

Thanks. I must say I always liked the previous Panda 4x4. Aside from being really slow, I thought highly of it.

No man be a bit open minded, imagine a little Jeep along the lines of a Suzuki Jimny, with a good 4x4 terrain response system in Trailhawk guise of course. I think it will sell like hotcakes if it is priced similar to the Fiat Panda.
