I had the Securi-lid on my previous bakkie. I was very happy with the quality, strength and ease of use apart from the fact that these products are not dust proof so if you plan to travel on dirt roads and need to transport goods like luggage, cooler bags, bedding, camp furniture etc you need to bag it.
I had an Armadillo on my Caddie quite a few years ago, it was an awesome product but as Roberto said it was not totally dust proof. But that didn't bother me as it was just to secure my tools. My biggest gripe was that the grit would eventually build up in the slat grooves making it difficult to open and close, and to clean it took hours

None of these load bin covers. It has the same problem as a closed canopy, in that it creates negative pressure inside the bin and sucks dust through the tailgate. And BOY do they suck dust.
I have a Rigideck on my Drifter, but I see they only manufacture a solid cover that flips open for the new vehicles. My cover on the Drifter at least kinks in the centre to give it a bit more load height, but I know the plastic ones like I have, have not been produced in years. Maybe contact them and see if they cannot modify it for you.

D you really believe its the armadillo or securi lid that Let dust in, or maybe the tailgate being not dustproof?
asking because im in the market for bakkie, and dust is my biggest concern.

My biggest concern is which one of the two takes up the most space - with the naked eye it looks as if the securi-lid does - If anyone has checked the difference I would be very interested to know...
I ask the same question elsewhere recently. After looking at both systems they were pretty much the same as far as I could tell. I went with the SecureLid as most people advised that their after sales was better. No way I can verify that at this stage, but otherwise there was pretty much no difference otherwise.
Heard the armidillo has a flusher fit so went with that. Thanks guys

verdict - Armadillo stronger and more secure - and with a decent discount the same price.
Ordered mine yesterday
None of them are dustproof. Only a solid lid with huge rubbers and air displacement system. The low profile irritates me as everything get stuck against the low lid. So then a canopy comes in handy.

The Armadillo has a lower and neater mounting profile, and the Securi-lid locks onto a bar which is attached to the tailgate. So everytime you want to open the tailgate on the Securi-lid you have to open the slider first. That to me is a BIG negative.
The Armadillo, the tailgate and slider operates independently from each other, so you can open the tailgate without touching the Armadillo.
Dust, apart from the tailgate it comes in through all the small little openings and joints on the loadbin, look underneath the top of the sides, on the inside of the loadbin, and see how many holes there are too.![]()
