Default What app to track workouts?

What app do u use when tracking your workouts?

    I know about 2.
    Strava and Map my ride.

I like to use Strava but it does not connect to satelites and give different distances when doing the same route.

Cutrently I use Map my ride. It does not give the problems as Strava but it does not have the club option as with Strava.

    Is there other options?

    Strava and garmin connect.
Do you use a cellphone or a GPS device like a watch?
I've found cellphone strava to be a bit out, but not by enough for it to be a deal breaker.
Garmin connect is a bit of a las to use, the UI sucks, but since Vitality stopped using Strava I basically only use GC to upload to Vitality.

    I use Endomondo.
I don't have a heart rate monitor or power meter. I thus use it purely for logging my ride.

I'm also a Garmin + Strava fan. These days, not cycling too much, I'm quite happy to leave everything in Garmin Connect.

My Garmin 500 has been going strong for 6 years and show no signs of giving up. It turned out to be a very good buy. I upload to Garmin Connect and somehow it automatically goes to Strava.

It should when using a GPS capable phone. (Also - on Strava's help site are the reasons for possible distance / elevation discrepancies. )

If you have a watch which records your workout, that watchs' platform will be the 'primary' platform, e.g. Suunto - Movescount, Polar - Flow, Garmin - Connect, etc. If you don't have a 'sport watch', Strava should be good to record, as well as the other platforms mentioned. (OK I see now you will be using a smartphone)

Some more info here as well https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum/topi...app-for-rides/

PS : Family members using Strava for recording pick up some distance issues at times spec when walking it seems, better when running / cycling.

I use a polar watch. Best buy in a very long time. Must more convenient than lugging around a phone.
When i get home it sync's to my phone. Can then get heart rate, pace, GPS route and it also gives my my vitality points

tried strava on the phone .... binned that idea.

I use a Polar watch when commuting - VERY handy to back in the Polar records to see how my stats improved ! .... maar die arm raak te kort .... OKAY for recording the data, but not practical to check data on the watch while cycling. Partly because I struggle to focus at such short distances, but also because the single screen dont have all the data ....

On the MTB I recently installed a Garmin520. MUCH easier to read, and ample screen size to display a LOT of data !! Still getting used to the Garmin site and data layout. Seems to have everything and then some .....

To combine the two streams of data I may use a Strava account purely to assimilate the data. Might try this later, but in no hurry

If you are on Strava and use Google Chrome then the StravistiX add on is brilliant. It gives a lot of extra layers of data and understanding to your Strava stats -
